Repeat Prescriptions
Items can be re-ordered on a regular basis on request as follows:
- by telephone - 01653 648 260
- online via this website – follow the link at the top of this page to complete a simple registration
- in person - at the surgery reception
- on collection of current medication
Please request repeat prescriptions in plenty of time and allow 5 working days between requesting your medication and collecting it or your prescription. Not all items are held in stock and you may have a wasted journey if you call sooner.
Remember: The Surgery is closed Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.
Note: We will process only 1 repeat at a time unless there are special circumstances.
Dispensing
We dispense to all patients who live more than one mile from a pharmacy: we are not permitted to dispense to people who live within one mile of a pharmacy. We dispense NHS prescriptions as prescribed by the doctors and nurse practitioner and we keep a stock of the most commonly prescribed items,
Delivery of stock occurs twice daily and so the delay is kept to the minimum but there are times when you might have to wait for an “out of stock” item to arrive.
Unwanted Medicines
Many patients automatically place repeat orders of items even if they are not required. This results in a stockpile of unwanted items that may expire. We request that you go through your medication list and order only what is needed for the next month where possible. Please let us know if there are items on your repeat list that you no longer require and we will end that item & thus remove it from the list. Please return all unwanted and expired medicines to the dispensary where we will dispose of them safely for you.
Medication Reviews
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.
Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
